It's almost not fair....

To be able swing a detector, weighing less than 2 lbs, with no control box, in the rain/sleet as fast as you can and still be able to hear everything under the coil :) I'm still smiling after getting in from near freezing weather after going to a playground with wood chips, just to try out the Deus for the second time. I tucked the Vance headphones under my beenie, no meter, not even sure what program I was using and simply swing and recover whatever made a sound. I didn't find worth posting, but, I was able to just enjoy the lightweight feel of this machine. I am really impressed that I could swing like a maniac and still get solid hits on the coins, trash etc. As I began looking into the Deus, I watched a few youtube videos from the UK, laughing to myself about how fast these guys were swinging, thinking, they'll never find anything with a search technique like that and moving that fast !! The joke was on me, yes you can and yes you can get a response ! After using the Explorer 2 before getting my Deus, it's low and slow and methodical. Yes, there is a time for that, but, what a nice change of pace. I'm not sure if the Deus has the depth ability of the Explorer, but, I've yet to hunt an area with deep targets and with only a few hours under my belt, perhaps I'm in for a nice surprise, lets hope so. I think I have a great combo with the Deus and the Explorer 2. I just added the 11" coil to the mix of accessories,so, i just need some time and better weather to do some side by side target comparisons. I'm just rambling because I'm very pleased with this new toy :)

Here's a video I thought to be funny - but still shows how deadly the 9" coil setup is:

Glad you are liking the setup - and it's a perfect machine for those nasty cold/rainy/snowy days when the "detecting spirit" is being tested...having a featherweight machine really helps with stamina at least for me.

If you turned on the machine without looking, it was probably in the Basic1 program, which is a great 12 khz all-purpose setup. Good luck and HH!

Yep, Deus has super fast recovery and good separation. I can hit my 12" test garden dime with a rusty nail buried 6" above it! When I throw other trash on top of the ground around it, I hear every one of them but if swing to fast, my brain can't process the information that fast!!

So Dan,
Is it fair to say Your really liking The AWESOME DEUS????????????
Loving mine!!! I divorced my 3D for the Deus and I ain't looking back.
So many Pros to this machine with 0 Cons in my book.Lightweight,
lightning fast separation and has Great Audio but the deeper ones you gotta be
watching that Horse-shoe for that very faint tint of black on the non-ferrous side
of the shoe and sometimes no audio but traces in the shoe that pop in when swinging
over a deeper target. JMHO's. The Deus will Bring Home the Bacon!!!

Isn't that the truth! I can't believe how it punches in my red clay and high mineral dirt. As a new user I haven't dug a deep keeper yet but 6-7" on coins in my soil blows me away! My f75SE and T2SE are a distant second on this soil! I am shocked!

Would you mind sharing your settings.....all of them please for your hot soil? I had a rude awakening today on some high mineral hot ground and my Deus would not hit an 8" copper penny! I tried stock programs, and spent some time changing settings, I was almost devastated!

My Min meter is usually at 75%.

disc:0/3t
sens:95/tx2
freq:12/18 (not much observable difference)
IV:1
react:1/silencer:-1
AR:4
GB80/GBN:85+

I found I have to investigate a quiet high tone chirp which is what you'll probably get at first. As you swing back and forth you'll hear it quietly chirping/buzzing through. Hopefully. Since my post I hit a 7" dime with fairly solid totally digable feedback.... UNLIKE THE F75, ETC. CORRECT GB IS KEY!

Thanks for the settings. I like to compare my settings to other users settings to see if I am missing anything. I set mine up similarly but am not able to run sensitivity above 90!
