I would like to share with all of you a great friend of mine who is gone now but is still my hero. Often we here the term who's your hero in life, we'll mine was Lester Bush, most of you already know the story but that's OK because hearing it once a year is a fresh breath of air that all of us need, either way I owe it to my friend and hero, Lester Bush because today is his day along with all those that followed him and served today!

One of many WW2 vets that I got to rub shoulders with in my life, Lester Bush, my friend and neighbor when I lived in Wisconsin.

Lester was just a farm boy from Wisconsin that enriched my life and everybody else's around him, made a change in my life, there was no better than Lester, he was a good man and true American right to the core and died in my arms at 80 in his living room and not on the beaches of Normandy where he landed on D-Day!

He told me everything about his time over their because I wanted to know, Lester served in General Patton's army that marched across France, he called it hell, I called it American history and life as we live it today thanks to our brave from the great generation that served and those that followed and serve to this day.

We are free thanks to people like Lester, a farmer from Wisconsin who fought in WW2 and just knew what it took to be free, thanks Lester and I miss you dearly and I honor you and all that served :usaflag:

Battles and Campaigns, The Sicilian Campaign, The Naples-Foggia Campaign, The Rome- Arno Campaign, The Southern France Campaign, The Rhineland Campaign.
