My first dig yesterday in an old dump. Big iron and rust all over the place. F70 did not like being there. Hard time to even pin point. Targets continued for feet and others started. Under the sod crushed gravel. I spend about an hour and gave up. Only because of the first dig I kept at it. I looked over the field and could just about see some old coins floating out there. Will try again this summer. I know there is much more there.
Thanks for stopping by and Happy Trails......Z

Thats pretty sweet to pull out of a trash heap..:clapping:...

.What settings did you go with Z?...I remember that one time you stayed mid sens and dropped down to a -7 thresh and killed it in a place like that? Several years ago, maybe 4...I cant remember any of the other details like disc.....
Mud.

Nice Indian head penny zee, I'm ' still looking' for my first Indian head. Right now my oldest penny is a 1910 wheatie and man it was rough could barely read the date. I'm running disc at 65 so I may need to bring that down a bit to get those Indian heads.

Mud thank you, thank you.... I forgot about the experiments I doing when I got the F70... Yes it is coming back to me with -9 and the +9 stuff and running the Sens as low as 30. I will be out there as soon as I can get back. Appreciated Mud....

I think the indian heads come in around 57-59?? Not sure. Will check the next time I go out. This is my second indian...

thanks guys.....Z

SL52 the indian head came up 59-60 just laying on top of the ground.

Mud took the F70 over to the field and just ran around trying different settings. The best settings that worked::::: thresh@-9, Sens@60, Tone@1F. This seemed to give a quiet and rather smooth running F70 in this field. -7/-8 gave more false chirps and using 3H/4H too many sounds that didn't match the number readings it was just more confusing. High tones for 20 readings, etc.... Sens@70 and higher just too many chirpy signals. I covered the same ground adjusting Sens, Tones, Thresh. I was using the 6.5" coil.... I actually saw a rusty tin can there! Yep!

Ez4 thanks good to hear from you good luck this season. Hope it is a banner year for you.......Z
