That is the Dems take on it. It has been proven that it will have no affect at all on anyone above 55. The dems just want to scare the crap out of all the older folks to get them to vote their way in 12.

Hi Theresa, You took the words right out of my hands in what I was going to write....this is nothing but a Democratic scare to get people to vote for them in 2012! This is not true at all, as I have a MO Rep of the House who keeps me updated on the budget cuts and the Dems are the ones who will sock it to the poor and the elderly because they lock-step to Obama's dictatory ways! Don't be fooled by this Propaganda! BO has already harmed us in many, many ways with no raises and steep Medicare payments in 2012 which will take all of our increase payment even if they should agree to give us one! All my bills I am receiving lately have gone up in price and no raise in my SS. Looks like I have to give up some things and decrease my output according to my income! That means my Cell Phone (I don't travel much any way) and go back to having Dial Up and I don't know about TV, as I have all this in a package deal and AT&T keeps charging more with all the extra charges going up for the State & Fed Gov't! AT&T wants all they can get, because they want to buy out another company but forget which one! Would cost them a lot to do it, so what do they do...they pass it on to its sucker customers! Am I disgusted with all that's going on besides raising the gas prices! You BET!!!! :veryangry: GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!! But I will still depend on Jesus and listen to God's Holy Spirit to know what I must do to try and keep my head above water and from drowning in debt!

WOW Ma Betty.... I think righteous anger is a good thing, Jesus displayed it in the Temple. That RED UNhappy face and all the R's set me back a little.

I appreciate the council about this being a Democrat ploy to scare us elderly S.S. folks. I have been retired 7 years now and at the current rate of inflation, assuming no increases in COLA, I will not last many more years in my present lifestyle. We have 2 children and 14 grand children plus 1 great grandchild. They all live out of SW Michigan. one in St. Louis area and other in Colorado Springs area. We were able to go visit (Drive) to them a couple of times a year but now we are blessed to visit only once a year to Colorado and twice a year to St. Louis. Mostly because of cost of travel and a little because of physical discomfort.

Sorry, I am rambling again... Thanks again for setting the political record straight.

Well, John, I just had to vent as I was receiving more bills that had gone up and one is a trash bill with a changed waste hauler that our Democratic County Governor forced upon us in 8 different districts. The one in my district was taken over by a higher costing trash hauler (Allied Waste) and I have no say so! I have to call and straighten them out on a few things....like no Senior Citizen's discount and yard waste hauling when I don't have that most usually as my neighbor uses a mulch riding mower and mulches the lawns and leaves, so to pay for something I don't use and don't want to use...has my dander up and I don't like making phone calls to these companies because I don't need the stress but I will get it straightened out and also, the former waster haulers who were cast aside without any business sued and won but the cost of the suit will probably be put upon the county tax payers to repay the cost that our ungodly County Gov't has placed upon all of us! There are so many blacks and liberal voters in North County that they keep re-electing him; therefore, he runs the Conservatives in South County! So if I put a few more GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRs on the Forum you and others know why! At the rate I'm going, it won't be long until my IRA savings will be depleted and then no way can I live on a small SS check from our so-called gov't who give themselves raises all the time and have benefits that I nor others have! Still venting, so just be patient with me, for I will be okay!

1. The shortage of money must come from reducing services and from taxing those whom can afford to pay the tax !
2. The scare tactics come from both sides....I do not believe either group.
Let's cut the losses from both ends...
Cut all the loop holes.
Change american law to require land ownership to be only accesible to citizens only like most countries do.
Stop the flow of US dollars from being exported enmasse.

Welcome Jim and, yes, there are bad politicians on both sides who do not use Common Sense, but I know to be on the side of the Conservatives is better than voting for those who prove themselves to be liars....whether Dems or Repubs! Let us pray so that God's Holy Spirit will guide us on the right path and give us godly wisdom in whom to vote for in every election! The Tea Party has made great strides and things are a little better, but you can bet your bottom dollar that the Dems won't agree with any of the Common Sense cuts to have a decent budget and say that the Repulicans caused all the problems plus it looks like shutting down the gov't which I pray won't be....but with the hidden agenda of BO and his cohorts they don't care and won't be blamed since the Repubs were elected and are in office and giving them a fight for their political finances and ungodly laws!
