Found this little gizmo on a 200 year old farm where the NY state militia used to gather. Within in 15 to 20 feet from it I found an 1810 LC and a flat button with no back mark. I think thats cupid on the first pic (front) and maybe a cup full of fruit on the second(back?)Any help would be appreciated. Thanks and HH.

DEAN YOU GOT PRETTY CLOSE,,,I HAVE BEEN AROUND THESE THINGS YEARS AGO AND I BELIEVE IT TO BE A CLOCK KEY..
MOPARDAVE..

Is there a square hole in the bottom end?
It looks threaded on the outside. I have never seen a clock key that threaded into the clock. <img src="/metal/html/frown.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":(">

There is a hole in the bottom end, it is round, if it does have square sides they are to deep inside for me to see them. The lines that look like threads are not. They go around only one time each. More like ribs than threads. I have some clock keys this is much smaller than those. It is only a little larger than a dime. Thanks for the input everyone. Most every reply I have gotton has been a watch winder.

I'll be danged! <img src="/metal/html/oh.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":O">
