Jiggling

Jugghead

New member
Uncle Willy, would you please explain to me the meaning and purpose of "jiggling" the coil, and exactly how to do it? Thanks. Jugg

I'll give it a shot if you don't mind Uncle.
what you are trying to do is get a repeatable tone..one beep with each side of the coil. This enables you to mentally (and visually) determine where you target is laying. Many detectors are motion required to obtain your signal. Just laying some coils on a coin will get no signal until the coil is moving.
The jiggling (as I use it) is just a quick side to side movement of your coil..kind of like chasing a bee off you golf ball with a club. What you are doing is trying to center you target under your coil while using ever narrowing sweeps of your coil.
Hope I didn't mess up your head with my rambling.

yep id say thats about right....gordygroover said it right
good luck

I can tell you that afther the folks here gave
me the jiggle advise with my 1500 my coin
totals last year did MUCH better ... it helps to
get the correct size B for coins when sometimes
itshows larger or deeper

Well it's called "jiggling", "wiggling", and I call it "twitching." Just center your coil over a questionable target and whip it rapidly from side to side a couple of inches each way. This will turn many iffy targets into good ones. By design a "motion" detector discriminates better and goes deeper the faster you move the coil over the target so a lot of targets you would have passed by will now wind up in your pouch..
