Has been a slow year for me so far and all this rain in the Northeast hasn't helped but I managed to sneak off to meet Charles and Butch in one of our favorite hunted out parks this evening. Started out slow with only 3 wheat cents but got lucky when I scored the 1891 Seated liberty dime. Last signal of the hunt was a deep iffy one and with fading light I managed to pull a pair of sweet 1886 Indian heads and what appears to be a train flattened Indian head out of the hole. Both 1886's have full libertys and should clean up quite well. Charles and Butch scored a few keepers as well. Hopefully this will kick start my detecting and the finds will come at a better rate.

I would say that park is far from being hunted out if you ask me. If that was like Island Park in Fargo,ND, you would be lucky to even find an old coin or two after me and a few have pounded that park to death. And this park isn't small either. It takes up about 3 city blocks long and a city block wide or so. I would continue pounding that park since you have found Indians and a Seated there. Good Luck and HH and keep us posted.

It is located on Rikers Island NY.And takes up most of Laguardia airport. The Rikers were Dutch imigrants, and built their house on 134 acres in the early 1600's.The current owners said that when they pass on the house will be donated for a museum.Wouldnt it be great to run the machine in that yard.Have a good one.
