JOHN 14:27 We All Need To Be Reassured Now & Then

Amen, Martin! Our Lord Jesus gives us true peace and not the world....it is too unpredictable! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

I wonder how many have been blessed by this and other gifts God has given to us and then like other gifts around the old Christmas tree they become less and less used - and appreciated - to the point we forget we have them. Reminders such as this is very good and thank you for posting this.

I think of other gifts that we cherish. For example, we have a desk and chair from Sherry's grandmother. Her grandmother is gone to be with the Lord and she was a mighty prayer warrior (I wonder who prays for us now) and this desk and her Bible was the 2 things that kept her in touch with God - more than once a day. She prayed at this desk for others, had photos and notes under a sheet of glass on top of the desk of those she has prayed for and continued to pray for until she left.

So on her passing the desk and chair became a gift to Casey. Others so much wanted this 'gift' and yet she wanted Casey to have it. It is cherished by Sherry. Her Bible, I do not know who got it, but she used it...it was worn, torn and even held together by rubber bands to keep pages from falling out....She (Sherry's grandmother) cherished that Bible - even when given a new one...she KNEW the old Bible and even though she was losing her sight, she said "If I can find one word on the page, I know what is written there", the new Bible given to her...did not give her that feeling. Let's just say a pretty Bible, unused, is pretty much useless - one that has been used and is worn, torn, etc,...now that is what we all would love to have...especially if it is us who have used it that much for it to be in that condition.

Anyway, back to the desk and chair, cherished and desired by many. What a wonderful gift it would be to those who appreciate it - want it and would be so thankful to have it. Do we have the same appreciation for the gifts God has given to us? Are we thankful, do we appreciate daily what the gift(s) is/are, do we use the gift(s) or just let it be pretty, and collecting dust?

What gift(s) do you have? Used it (them) lately, shared it (them) lately, thanked God for it (them) lately?

Thanks Pete for the reminder to use the gifts God has given us and there are so many He has given me! I used to use the Spiritual gifts He has given me more so than now, as I don't go to church to use them like I should, but I do try to use godly wisdom and listen to what His Holy Spirit is telling me; otherwise, I would be lost like the world and not using Common Sense and falling for the wicked and evil things that mankind tries to trick us with through satan by serving him and not even knowing it many times! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty
