John,
That was an extremely nice article in the Garrett Searcher. The '64 coin ring was a really nice gesture to Mr. Garrett.
Job well done!

Thanks guys.....I've always admired the guy. He's very brilliant, has an exceptional successful business, was born a challenging son, has been so generous for donating machines/equipment to rallies, has a spititual side in his life and he & his wife make great role models for many people. And, he makes great detectors. Heck, without them I'd have nothing to brag about .

Charles really opened the door for many people to be able to enjoy metal detecting. His books, and Roy Lagal's, for the most part, were the only in depth information available on the subject too. I was certainly inspired by them.
He was very innovative too. For proof, just look at his advertisements in the older magazines. I still enjoy his 'ads'(pun intended) from the past.
Imagine what the hobby would be like if every company had a man like him at the wheel from the beginning up till now.

Yeah John is our resident poster boy.

Just wanted to set the record straight- In the above post it should say, "no pun intended" after the word "ads." I do not own one of the Advanced Detection System, series of machines. -Bill/Wa.-
