Just a few finds this time.

I was hoping for a better weekend for finds but didn't really get out of the area until Sunday. Sunday was the only time I started looking for possible sites to hunt. Next weekend I hope to get out more than I did this last time and I hope the luck is better also. I found 6 Silver this time. They are 1 Barber Quarter dated 1895-O which is badly worn, 1 Barber Dime dated 1913, 2 Mercury Dimes dated 1918 and 1941, and 2 Roosevelt Dimes dated 1947 and 1962-d. I found 1 Indian Head dated 1906 which was in tough shape. Something was encrusted on it so I tried using Electrolysis on it and got a lot of it off the surface of the coin. Too bad it looks like a new coin now due to having to use a brass brush on it. It was the only way to get the crud off. I found another 18 Wheats also and they are dated 1914,1917,1919,1920,1926-d,1935-d,1936,1941,1941-s,(2)1944-d,1946-d,1949-d,1949-s,1950-d,1952-d,1955, and 1958-d. Hope you all have some luck during the week if you are able to get out and HH. And thanks again Rick(ND) for finding me the Electrolysis Unit and it works great. Nice finds there James. That's a "few finds" that I would like to add to my collection any day. Nice going buddy.......:) Glad you liked the pictures and I will answer your PM tomorrow sometime. Keep up the great finds and HH.

The dime looks very nice and the quarter shows a lot of character - I think I like the real worn ones quite a bit too - if only they could talk!! My seated quarter was worn badly like that, but what a ride it must have had!

I was heading out the door on Saturday to go someplace to detect, but my wife needed me to run and pick up some burger for the cafe, so i never got out again. One of these days I will again I hope before it snows.
Haven't seen the SE yet and hope to this week as all my SE have been back-ordered since Sept 8th, so I will say it looks like at this time there is a good 30 days wait to get any SE from Minelab as I hear it is the fastest selling detector they ever had. We just want to get one for you to try and let us all know what you think.
I am glad the Electrolysis Unit is working out for you, I have extra clips coming too for it later in the week.

My plans were all messed up on Saturday so I stayed in town with Dale and hunted for a little bit but only found 1 Roosevelt Dime and some Wheats. Have you heard anything about how old of a Quarter Tim has found yet. I hope that I just made it a bit harder on him with my 1895-O Barber for the find of the month coming up. Let me know when my parts come in or when the Explorer SE finally arrives. Isn't it funny that some of the bigger Dealers have been getting more Explorer SE's in but not you. Oh well! Sooner or later, you will get yours I guess.

Always enjoy seeing what you've found, James. That 1913 dime looks like an EF from a distance. The season is drawing to a close for me. Do you hunt all winter? Looking forward to your next photo posts.

Funny thing is that I have been over this spot and passed the signals off as new coins even though the Quarter, Wheat, and Merc I found in this small area were 6" in the ground. The balldiamond was filled I think at some point in time since I have dug out coins before that were newer in the 6" range. I sure am glad I dug those coins out for sure now and will have to just dig everything like a person should I guess. Good Luck and HH.

I hope to find more old coins to add to the growing collection of mine before the snow starts to fly. But then again, it just gives me a chance to do more research and find some hidden spots so I can really clean up next year. Good Luck and HH.

I don't do any hunting during the winter since the ground is like a rock and it would take a cordless hammerdrill just to be able to get down to the items. I am hoping the weather holds up for at least a month yet so we will have to see what happens. Good Luck and HH.

I hope to get out to try it this week, maybe we can get something together for Saturday.
