As the Christmas season is approaching fast! I encourage everyone to give of whatever resources you have available (time, energy, money), to help those less fortunate this season. So many families are hurting right now! The angel tree is always a good place to start, but for those wanting a more personal experience, check with local schools, churches and community action agencies. Shopping for our Angel Tree kiddos is truly the best and most enjoyable Christmas shopping and gift giving I do. It's nice to buy for someone you love, but it is amazing to give to someone who truly NEEDS your gifts. I'm sure most of us here give through our churches every year, but time does move on and suddenly we find ourselves running out of time!

"If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth." 1 John 3:17-18

Great idea. For several years now we pick up an Angel Tree card at our bank and it is always a girl that is the same age as Grace. We let Grace pick out something she would like to give to the girl.
This year we are also sending care packages to soldiers over seas. There are many more ways everyone can give this time of year and the whole year through.

Yes, Liz and Mike, as there are so many needy people out there that are worse off than us, for though I struggle to keep my home and have for years, I know there are others who have lost jobs and their homes and need blessings as well as our Military men and women and their families also need blessings and a helping hand! I would do more if I was able to do so, but on a limited SS Income and a small savings, I have only enough to help my children, especially, Tami and Troy who are really struggling, but I do help others, as some of our CMD family could verify to, although not as many as I would have liked to help! God has met my needs more than once and I pray those who truly need it that He will meet their needs through those who are able to do so! I cannot even provide Christmas gifts for my own families, accept Tami with some money, but the other two are doing much better than she is and not in as poor of health like her! As Tiny Tim said, God bless us everyone! Amen! Ma Betty

Double , Bro! I know Grace enjoys shopping for the Angel. I vividly remember the first time we adopted an angel. I was sooo excited--I was nine and my Sunday School class all piled in a mini-van and went to the big city (Louisville, which I NEVER got to go to) and shopped, went out to eat and went back to the church for hot chocolate and present wrapping. It was all so special. Most special of all was the feeling I got delivering the presents to a needy family in a local housing project. It is so important to teach our children to think of others who are less fortunate.

Don't I know how rough things are, Ma. It's been quite awhile since I've had a paycheck and I just trust GOD will take care of things! Have some major expenses coming up and the money is in the bank, Praise GOD! I often think about my sweet little granny, who is 92, who is still active in her church. She has taught SS for 67 years!!! She is getting more feeble now, but still works distributing shoeboxes to needy children. She told me this year her health had finally declined so much that she had to sit and address labels. It kinda breaks my heart, but she truly does what she can and GOD uses her. There is always something we can do, we need not think it has to cost money we don't have :) I know you get that, but I think many people feel only their money is wanted when in reality it is just as hard (maybe even more so) to find able workers.

Heck, Ma, I'm not as dedicated as my granny either and I am young and reasonably healthy :( She has been the one person in my life who has ALWAYS given me a glimpse of GOD's love!
