this is a cream puff i like to know if this is a 180 or 120 ed and also does the notch knob and disc knob work togather or seperate and can you use 2 nine volts instead of 8 double a batteries thanks hal

The manual can be read on Tesoro's website http://www.tesoro.com/info/manuals/older/goldensabreii/

At the lowest disc setting, most iron is eliminated, so I would expect it to be the 120 ED

The Notch and Disc can work together, or the notch turned off completely and just the Disc used. In that case, where the notch is set will be the break point for the high/low tones

I most definitely would not run it on two 9v batteries. It is designed to operate on 12 volts

Bigdawg, I have a GS II but haven't used it enough in several years to be able to give any good advice on it. Don't expect a lot of depth from it , though there are several of the Tesoro UMax coils (large and small) that you can use on it. Also the Troy X 2 coils work well on it also, if you can find them.I would suggest you go to "The Metal detecting Equipment Forum" , go to their Archives and do their Yahoo search on Golden Sabre II and read every thing that comes up on the GS II. There is a lot of info there, and some tricks and hints as how best to run the GS II. It is known to be one of the best descriminators ever when you learn it well. Good luck and HH, Charlie

I'd love to find a new in the box GSII. Great find! :jump:
