Just bought xs Need hints

tater

Hey guys i just bought an Explorer XS. I have been detecting with a Shadow x3 so this is totally different beast. I am just wanting some hints. THANKS

First thing you want to do since you are not familiar with Minelab detectors is to just use the factory preset settings until you get the hang of it. To do this, when you first turn on your XS hold down the power button for about five seconds and it should be in factory preset mode. You will hear a few little notes like a flute sound. Keep your coil on the ground bearly brushing it and go slow and overlap your swings with your coil about 50%. That way you will cover more ground and if there are any coins under your coil you will find them. I have done very well with my XS and have some other settings that I use, but again, once you get the hang of it and listen to what the sounds are telling you then you can start messing with different settings. Good luck and best of luck with your XS. You won't be sorry that you bought it. Hope I have helped you out some and HH.

I use Xs too, now I know what is not perfect in this beast; first buy headphones with volume regulators, because on XS threshold on minimum sounds to loud! switch threshold on minimum and after lift up volume with XS up till maximum and after drop volume in your headphones down till you will be comfortable. after this you will have good ratio threshold to volume. use good quality metal detectors headphones! koss 30 is very good sounds too on minelab. second don't use any programs like coins and others they like to slow down your explorer, use all metal screen with minimum _15-14 -13 -12 more open screen more fast your detector, but in the same time you will hear allot different signals---bad and good, start with -10 and later go -14. and last remember to found coins you dont have to use max sensitivity, you have on Xs 30sensitivity steps,in trash ---where a lot iron ---do not scare to use 10 sensitivity, its only better, because you will hear more signals than will not hear anything---or nuling--- good luck!
