Just curious...has the price of gas been a serious consideration as to whether you will detect or not...

with gas prices just hitting $4.20 in upper lower Michigan yesterday I wonder just how far I will travel to detect.

I try to combine trips to make traveling worth going anywhere. Will the cost of gas or has the cost of gas caused you to think twice about going out detecting just to detect...or are you now thinking more of 'combining trips' like shopping and then detecting in the area to save gas?

Anyone cancelling their usual Memorial Day trips up to their cottage or elsewhere and staying closer to home?

It's curtailed how far I'll travel to some extent. Haven't taken any beach trips since earlier in the year for instance. I'm just hitting closer places more.

I do not care how much gas is a gallon. If I want to drive to Virginia, or anywhere else to go Metal Detecting....I am Gone!!!. HH, I will be in Virginia around Farmville this weekend...Jesse. Oh yeah, I live in Huntington WV. on the Ohio River. I am Leaving in about an hour...Jesse.

Price of gas today was $4.09 through out the entire town.....and that is for the cheap stuff. Diesel was over $5 bucks here too. Glad i don't own a diesel truck.

I wish I could use horse power. I don't ride western saddle, if I don't have too, McClellan saddle is the ticket.

Anyway, the gas prices haven't stopped me. I am even thinking about taking a ride out to Myrtle Beach (140 miles one-way) to see if I can score. I figure the Memorial Day weekend would be a good time, Tuesday after everyone has left.

You blokes should complain, We are paying $7-40 a gallon here in Australia, Thats $1-63 a litre x 4.54 litres per gallon. It makes going anywhere painfull

The polys should take the 10% GST off fuel.

Instead they are saying they're looking at removing the excise,
this only means about 3 cents per litre !!!

I suppose we are "lucky" fuel isn't $10.00 per gallon !!!

Have heard in England they are paying $10 a gallon. Go figure why 3 of the 'best kids' on the block are paying so much

You know it makes me mad the prices but it hasn't affected where or what I do. I think gas is like cigarettes to the smoking addict, will bitch, but still pay that $4 bucks a pack or $4 bucks a gallon!

there's no reason for diesel to be so high, its a byproduct you get when you make gasoline. Its just greed.

Yeah, oil speculators have got fleets of tankers bobbing about out there on the oceans of the world. ~ WAITING...

They only come ashore when the oil price is up....
