just got my remodded LTD back and its awesome....

Every concern I had was addressed, and it works like a charm now. NO momma bug anymore. NO loud ground-balance anymore. Performance is equal to my unmodded LTD in both Disc and all metal, but the modded one is MUCH quieter in 90 OR 91. I am VERY happy with FTs response and service. I just sent it in and it came back. (just shy of three weeks turnaround including shipping time) No phone calls. No worrying. No pestering FT. For those on the fence, go for it. For the small amount it cost to have it modded, I literally got a brand new machine. Who can argue with that?

AWESOME! I am super pleased with fisher and the chance they gave us to upgrade our machines. Mine is such a joy to use. I loved it before but the EMI could cripple my hunts. It is so much more quiet and easy to use now. Thanks, Fisher.

If only it wasn't 16°F (as in "Friggin Frozen") outside.
 
I do a lot of ice fishing, and as you might imagine, its hard to do without ice. :) I'll get excited again about detecting after winters over. till then its all about putting fish in the ice.
 
It's back! Looks like an entirely new stalk and display head (and smaller trigger) and just looking all shiney new!

The display flashes: "01 15 14 00 31 LE" when I turn it on.

I could use it meaningfully indoors at a sensitivity of 55 in dE (couldn't use it indoors at all before) and just a whole pile of processes and settings to explore!

Still frozen solid outdoors, though. But I know about where my test garden is so snow be dammed!

C'mon Spring!

Was yours an 11-14 unit when you sent it in? If so, what was it when they sent it back?

Just got a RA from Juan to send mine back in too. The momma bug makes 2-tone mode about unusable, so I'm looking forward to getting it back. Also found the FA mode to be erratic when I used it in the field, hopefully that's fixed as well.

I will say, for the past couple of months that I did get to use it, when hunting in 9.0, 0-4 disc, 3H tones, BP mode and 99 sensitivity, it's been quite an improvement from the old LTD I sent in !!
 
hey cal ,did you buy new or did you get yours upgraded?if you bought new they will swap it out for a brand new unit..thats what they are doing for me.

I bought it new....back in 2009 :)
