they didn't do the MRA with contrast but did a catscan with contrast which found nothing. They are just sending her home with 'headache' as a diagnosis. She is about in tears on the phone. The doctor told her straight out "This is a business and we are in it for a profit. Without insurance we cannot help you. Go see a Neurologist." May God have mercy on their souls for treating His children this way. Gwen (her sister) took Sherry out to the car and then went back inside. Gwen was fit to be tied. Just a few minutes ago the guy who took Sherry's blood pressure earlier came out and asked if she would come inside as Gwen wanted her to come in.
That is all I know at this point. I wonder if they start their day with "I pledge allegiance to the almighty dollar for which it stands". Guess the hypacratic oath is for hypocrits. I still think an open season on insurance companies and doctors might one day be in order....after all who can afford to go to hospitals other than doctors and insurance people?
Will let you know when I hear more. For now I am so sorry for Sherry and for Gwen too who has put a lot of her time and her money into helping Sherry - and then still only getting the same 'go away we don't want you' attitudes.
UPDATE: Sherry went back inside. They are admitting her and calling for a neurologist...who they say they don't have any on a weekend. Gwen kept saying "this is supposed to be the BEST hospital with the BEST Neurology department and you have no neurologists - this is a hospital isn't it???"
Will have to see what happens next - I pray she gets proper testing, proper diagnosis and proper treatment....God knows she has had little of any ot these before this.
