went yesterday to the gold fields. The last few time i have gone it has been hard gone with my uncle(who has alot of experience).Have found some gold but not like my uncle has.I guess when you have alot of time in the field you get better.Yesterday started like all the other times slow and covering alot of ground unearthing an abundance of square nails and lead shot.Walked into an area i haven't been into before it looked very promising.within 5mins. of swinging the 705 out comes the bigger of the two nuggets then found the (4.4grams).After a bit of time to calm down from the excitement i could calmly hear the sounds from the detector walked less then 5ft then heared the now familiar sound of a good target. The second seemed to be more exciting because it was smaller and a smaller targets in large area are very difficult. The smaller nugget is .3gram.The 705 seems to be able to find everything

Very nice!!!!!. I am still at the square nail phase. If you need to build an old house I may have enough nails from the Trinity County claim and will trade you for the yellow metal stuff you found:detecting:.

Congrats on hitting paydirt with the X-TERRA. I don't blame you for being excited. You earned it! And thanks for providing a picture, comparing the size of the nuggets to a penny. It certainly puts into perspective the determination that prospectors must have. HH Randy

:cheers:I'm still going through the square nail issues but the test nuggets help out alot.Seems like the test nugget just helps with the sound.Iwill hit an iffy target then i will drop the tester in a clean area and listen for the sound it helps to hear the sound. I will usual dig all the targets just to get the trash out .Nuggethunter13 sounds like we could build one hell of a mansion of square nails we should build it on some good gold ground though.
