Just leavin' the beach

The beach was sanded in and it was a bit cold today so I decided to call it quits after about 1/2 hour hunt. I got about three zinc pennies while "ernestly" hunting. I was just cresting the berm to go home when I got this last signal. It is a small 10K ring but it sure made my day. I guess you could call it a Christmas gift from the detector gods. I must have done something good for humanity recently as we all should occasionally.

Last year I was headed to shore after several hours of hard digging and little to show for it and I got two gold rings back to back only a few feet apart!!

It's funny how that works. I have a buddy I meet at the dog park a few times a week. He also detects and hasn't had much success this last year. Knowing how detecting goes, a few weeks ago I said to him "One of these days everything is going to click for you." About a week later I saw him and he'd pulled seven gold rings in eight outings. Talk about clicking...his clicker was working overtime.

Thats because golds like a lays potato chip you can't leave the beach with just ONE
