Last night,I woke up at 3AM-Rolled over and closed my eyes, when all of a sudden;there was flash AND A BIG BOOM!!!;a ways from our house-THEN the power went:thumbdown:....Got up and looked out the window;saw a light display that would've made Francis Scott Keys proud...Turns out an electrical transformer about a half-mile away decided to go out in a BIG way-looked like "the rockets red glare, the bombs bursting in air"all over again.Power was back on at 1:50 PM...If Id thought about it,Id gotten a digital pic of it-lit up the whole sky!!.....

Have been shovelling snow almost all day...at the hotel...back home...back to the hotel...

On the way to the hotel and back I saw all the beautiful snow covered trees...magnificent view...and no camera with me...another Kodak moment missed...one suitable for a computer desktop or a Hallmark - Currier and Ives Christmas card.

Glad your power was back on fairly quickly Steve.

Sorry Steve that you missed taking the pic, as I would have liked to have seen all the sparks and flashes a flying! And Pete you will have more opportunites to take pics of a winter wonderland before Spring....just keep your camera handy! :) One New Years because of lots of ice we had several electrical transformers going out and was a glorious view but alas not happy with loss of electricity for heat and cooking and was very slick trying to travel on the roads! God Bless! Betty
