Just purchased a Tesoro silver saber ll with a cleansweep coil. Are these any good on tot lots for gold rings?

I'm fairly unfamiliar with Tesoro detectors. I had a tejon at one time, but had never tried a saber. Anybody have any luck on silver coins or gold rings with this particular detector? Thank you

I would think that that coil is a tad to large for a tot lot search but would be execellant in a field or park for coins and jewelry. I have been wanting one as well and almost bought the one you bought . If I hadn't already allocated the funds for the Tesoro TolTec II I have been looking for I would have bought it for my arsenal if you decide after you get it, it is not for you let me know not sure how deep they are and pinpointing might be a learning curve

Have not used a silver sabre II but I do like using the cleansweep coil on tot lots. I run across a few tot lots with a lot of foil and other junk and I'll switch to a small coil (5.75 inch concentric), but frequently just cover the tot lot with the cleansweep and then move to the playing fields or on to another tot lot. Tejon with the cleansweep has become my most frequent tot lot tool of choice of late. If I have not spent a lot of time at a particular tot lot before, I'll go with the standard coil (9x8 concentric) or a different detector and slowly explore the depths.

PS Pinpointing is very straight forward: it pinpoints off the end of the coil in the center of the width, either end. Once you get the hang of it it is very precise.

Thanks for he info Tvr, it also comes with the 8" brown coil, so that should help if here is trash. I had a Bigfoot coil before, and really liked it, so I can see this coil being similar. Hope this detector is good on rings.
Thanks again

I had the Silver Sabre II, and found it a great detector, found many silver rings and several small gold rings with it. Some of the gold rings were over 5" down, one of them wasn't so far down, but was in very difficult soil. The SS hit well on these targets...it also did very well on coins. Keep the disc. low and you will find all sorts of things. HH
