Just received my permit to detect in New York State parks....I'm happy ...now I can find some better condition coins...I have

friends who hunt New York parks and they invited me to go with them as soon as I received my permit...also bought myself a Predator digger...tried it out...love it...it slices to make a nice "half moon"..then it cuts any roots...then I can loosen and scoop out the dirt in the hole...this is great a great tool .

You just have to write to :City of New York
Parks and Recreation
Arsenal North
1234 Fifth Avenue Rm 213
New York, New York 10029

Send a letter requesting a permit ( it is free) and include a copy of your driver's license.

In about 2 weeks they will send you a permit.

<center> Not sure what permit others may be talking about but Like I said Thatchers State Park and the like you can get a permit to detect it
like 25 Dollars or was
Saratoga State Park as well unless they have changed the Laws now

Is that $25 per park or a blanket permit? I didnt think they even let you detect at Saratoga State
