July of 08 I was told I needed to turn in the real guns I found underwater for identification and so they could look for any past crime evidence. They took into possession 3 of the guns that I found. I just got called today and I was told by a detective I could have all 3 back. Acutally 2 were very old cap guns and only one was real.

The real one is an Ivers and Johnson 7 shot derringer, actually my favorite.

I found it in a lake in 10' of water. It fits perfectly in the palm of my hand.

Another gun that I found has Gene Autry on it in embossed letters. I was told it is a valuable cap gun but I haven't researched it as of yet as I just got back.

The last gun Has Federal Gore on the side and No 1 on the handles, Something before the Gore but not sure what it is.

Sorry no pictures of them since the sheriff dept cleaned them. My camera was stolen.

This is why I like the bell tone on the CZ-21. I find a lot of old interesting iron signals in shallow water and I will keep digging the signals. I have also found very old license plates, boat anchors, bells, and even an old iron that you heat up on a stove!!

So all you divers out there not all the big signals are cans. I have over 20 old cap guns and tons of tools.

I'd love to find a gun. I used two hunt with a couple of very competitive girls that always waxed my ass so I stopped hunting with them. One time when I was not with them, one of them found a gun in a duffle bag buried in the dry sand. So guess what they did...they called the cops and the cops took it away.

Harvdog

I found a pellet gun stock gone...I got some stares carring it to the trash can ...one guy yelled out you can't have a gun on da beach...LOL

The way to go.

Years ago I found a .22 mag revolver wrapped in a trash bag. It was a little rusty .I called the police. A Sergent came out took one look and told me it was a BB gun. I asked him what made him think that. He pointed at spring on ejector rod and said the cocking spring. I OK thank you. After a few hours and a can of WD40 and 3 in 1 oil shoot a few times a year and the BBS still roll out of the barrel.

have found ammo but not a gun.-better to turn it in than get stopped with it and end up jailed with a murder weapon
