Just checking in to see how everyone is doing. Been several days since I posted but you are in my thoughts & prayers whether I'm able to take time to post or not.
I told y'all about the ordeal with my parents (specifically my mother) right after Christmas and how it really hit the fan when we tried to take her keys or get them to move to SC with my sister. I will spare you the details of all the events in the days that followed that episode, but they finally consented to move to SC to live with Pat. It was a whirlwind move that left me to deal with cleaning out the house and getting it prepared for the folks we have rented it to. I have been super busy and exhausted trying to deal with everything.
To add to the issues we were already dealing with, my daddy fell two days after he got to SC and broke his back. They didn't know if he would survive surgery but if he didn't have it he was going to be paralyzed. He had the surgery last Tuesday and came through it with flying colors!
He is in rehab now and doing very well for a man of 84! I drove 5 1/2 hours (one way) and back - twice in a week. It has been a long hard road since Christmas but I believe we are beginning to see light at the end of the tunnel. My garage is packed FULL of things from my parent's house that I'm gonna have to deal with and find a place for. I sure dread THAT job!!!! Got to start it soon though, cause we can't walk through there as it is now!
Work is great!!! Still loving it even though it's a load!!! Believe it or not, I got a job offer today to go back to teaching at a local middle school, but turned it down to stay right where I am. Not sure what my answer would have been if it had been one of the two high schools of my choice, but for now I am completely happy with what I'm doing. I do miss teaching but I'm doing okay right where the Lord has me for now.
Just wanted to update and say hey!
