Just wanted to say hello

My F4 arrives with Santa this Xmas and I retire mid January, at which time I plan to get re involved in this interesting hobby. I tried it years ago but due to poor equipment and a poor operator I failed to find much. This time I am taking the time to learn from great sites like this and I will have a much better instrument. Most of my MDing will be at the beach because being on Long Island NY I am surrounded by salt water. I picked the F4 for its ground balancing and beach capabilities.

Welcome to the site. There have been some nice finds from Long Island posted here and on other forums. You have a lot of old town sites, some of which are now under the plow, reseach and ck the old town libraries for old maps etc. Don't limit your self to Jones Beach and the like..

You will have a lot of fun with this detector it works great in the sand but do not go into the wet salt sand. I've been hunting Jones Beach for over 35 years and have found enought gold, silver, lighters, chains to fill 2 5 gal pales and that's NO LIE.
Detectors today are much easy to use >>>>F4/f5<<<<<< I have used fisher detectors for over thirty years NONE BETTER. I think you need a permit to hunt Jones Beach now check with TOB. I now live in Va. but if I can help you in any way let me know.
