keeps resetting

my xs mk1 keeps resetting to factory settings, then it shuts down ? it keeps on doing this, has anyone ever had this problem
 
Don't hold the start button so long on start-up...
Just long enough to get it runnin... If you hold the start button on re -start toooo long it automaticly resets to factory settins..good luck
 
Good point. I wonder if the button is stuck or it got wet?

It could also be a bad battery connection. Take the battery out and slide it in again and see if it makes better contact. It also could be a bad battery and if you have a back-up battery, try that one and see if it does the same thing. Just make sure that the other battery is charged up. Good Luck and hope you figure the problem out.
 
Clean the battery contacts with a typewriter eraser. It looks like a pencil with a brush on the other end. Remember those?
