Kellyco shows a Blue Max 350 but no Hot Head...

coils. Is the Blue Max 350 on the Kellyco website the same as the one White has discontinued? If it is I think I will latch on to one. I really want to give the TR Disc a try because I have several very very nasty lots in the oldest part of the town where buildings once stood.
Also I didnt find the Hot Head coils on Kellyco website, are they discontinued as well?? Maybe I just missed them.
Thanks,
John

If the run-of-the-mill HotHeads don't perform any better than the one I had, they need to be trashed...Not just discontinued!

MHO, your results may vary!

I have used the 350 Blue Max. A very nice coil for searching high traffic areas. Snack stands & under bleachers. It takes a while to cover an area with the little bugger.

If you open the controlbox and adjust the BIAS and GB settings to match the machine to the coil. Without this adjustment it does stink!!!!! JUST my exp with the coil.

BARguy, you are right. The only thing HotHead brand ever was, was larger coils. So whenever you'd see "more depth" in their magazine ads, if you looked close, you'd see they'd be comparing a 8" Fisher, with their own 9", or a Garrett 9", with their own 10", or whatever. Well DUH of COURSE you can go deeper with a larger coil (with all the inherent drawbacks of larger coils). So too can the manufacturer's OWN larger coil go deeper than their OWN smaller coils. I always considered that misleading advertising.

To the extent that Hothead did have same-size coil replacement, and to the extent they did try to have some sort of "superior winding" or some sort of "better mousetrap" guts inside, it certainly didn't get good reviews. Users frequently said they were staticky, unstable, etc...

I mean, THINK OF IT: if there WERE some sort of "better mousetrap" inside electronics that could've been made, don't you think the manufacturers would have been "all over themselves" to buy up the technology and put it on their own stock machines?

Lot's of company's make super coils, I've seen bus stearing wheel sized ones for the ML. Look at Tesoro,(for example) they have H.O.T. coils........hmmmmmm with some kind of chip inside..??......... They are just providing peoples desire to have the newest, best doo-dah, techno-babble they can buy. I will say that one advantage is the coil is way lighter than the Fisher 11 inch offered for this unit. Not saying it's better, just lighter and for me it works fine, Hey! maybe I've got the "GIFT" lol KIDDING!!!
