Key Date 1885 V nickel!

I have been wanting to find one of these for a long time. Every time I find a V nickel, I say to myself, maybe this one will be the rare 1885. It was always a disappointment when I rubbed away the dirt. Not this time though, thanks to my Explorer XS. I had to look 3 times at the coin to satisfy my disbelief. It was down only about 6-7 inches. I've got three holes in my V nickel book and this is the one I didn't want to have to buy. Now if I can just find that elusive 1916D Mecury dime! I also picked up a couple more Indian head pennies to bring up my years total to 57. Chris from Wisconsin came strolling by coincidently by mere chance, and I got to show him the fresh found loot. It was good to see you Chris, and hopefully we can get together and hunt sometime soon.

Boy,

I have way more than three holes in my V nickel folder. Believe it or not last hole I filled in any coin folder was a 1957 wheat. Have a million 1957-Ds. Still missing a couple of other common date wheats then it is off to the toughies.

Doesn't look like the rain is going to be enough to change things, so far. Will email you with new phone #.

Chris
