Kruzer vs Equinox 800

What advantages would the Kruzer have over the Equinox 800?

With the Equinox, you have 6 Frequency Options (5kHz, 10kHz, 15kHz, 20kHz, 40kHz, Or Multi (all at once)

Plus you get the option of bluetooth options for headphones, or Minelab's WM8 Wireless module - all which are included with Equinox 800.

With Kruzer you can only use one at a time and it only has 3 frequencies.

Just wondering what advantage the Makro would have over it?

I've had both Racer 1 and 2 and loved them and woukld love to stay loyal to the brand, but I just can't see any advantages in buying the Kruzer.

Any opinions, Ideas etc...very welcome.

cheers
Matt.

Pretty hard to answer that right now. Ask that question at the end of the month and there will probably be lots of opinions from people who have tested them head-to-head. Right now I think it would just be guesswork.

The Kruzer has a WaterProof external battery pack.

The Nox doesn't use ALL it's listed freq. "at once"---maybe 2 or 3.

I've not seen a Single video where the Nox was shown "obsoleting" any Single freq. detector.

is that a single has all the battery power in the one, while a dual or multi has it divided in various frequencies at different ratios.
There are advantages and disadvantages to either system.
Whites starting with the DFX allowed a dual to go (choice of) single{s} and the V3i allows the multi to do the same.

I have both pre-ordered because I think each will have an advantage at certain sites. I think the Kruzer will have the advantage in ghost town sites and the Nox at the beach. We still don't know what accessory coils will cost for the Nox. If the coils are anything above $150.00 then I see the Kruzer having a big advantage because you'll be able to tailor the Kruzer to different sites for much less. I pre-ordered the Kruzer with two additional coils. The Nox I ordered will only have the stock 11" for now and possibly forever.

That said, it will take Nel, Mars and others a little longer to hit the market with aftermarket coils.
(but the way things are going they may beat ML)

I do not see Minelab letting anyone make aftermarket coils for the Equinox right away and when and if they do I see them being priced highly just as the coils for the CTX from Coiltek are.
I see Makro is offering 5 coils right off the bat and all are very reasonably priced compared to other coils sold by manufactures.

Update the Kruzer thru your computer free.

Pluses for the Equinox
- More single freq options
- Simultaneous Multi freq option
- External wireless module, easy to connect other headphones.

Pluses for the Kruzer
- Plenty of optional coils incl concentric coil option
- External battery pod
- 2.4 Ghz wireless as opposed to Bluetooth
- 19 Hr run time
- Handle Vibration

Unique Features:

Equinox - Iron Bias

Kruzer - E.U.D mode

I'm sure both will excel in high trash, it'll come down to what type of audio you prefer.
On the beach and in the water are the two unknowns at this stage. Minelab said that MulitIQ is "almost" as good as FBS, and the Kruzer is very stable for a single frequency machine.

No, but it is much lighter then previous models. In fact, so light, you can fly it like a kite. Now how's that for saying something positive.
