Labor Day Weekend Finds. Uncleaned and then Cleaned for Skully the Pirate!! Part:1.

Here ya go Pirate Man! I would have added the "NUT" as you call it but I didn't keep it all together. I threw away about half of it with last weekends Junk so it was impossible to know exactly what I had dug. I do know that I dug at least 100 Junk Items this past weekend, if not more. I also started to throw the Clad into my Bucket and didn't realize until the 2nd outing on Saturday that I should have saved it and posted that for a pic also, but I would estimate that I dug between $15-$20 in New Change. One other thing I would like to mention is to Tim my hunt partner on Saturday and Monday. After you left Tim on Monday, I found another 8 Wheats and 4 more Silver (with a Merc,Rosie,Wheat in the same hole going back to the vehicle). Got 27 Wheats and 11 Silver along with that 1 Indian Head alone on Monday. All but 9 Coins were found with my Sniper Coil, the JOEY COIL. The other 9 Coins on Monday were with the Stock Coil at the beginning of the hunt. See Fella's! A Small Coil can work wonders!!Enough of the Chit Chat and onto the finds. I found 22 Silver over the 3-Day Period. They included 1 Canadian Victorian Half Dollar (No Date and a nasty Scratch that it received when trying to recover it in dirt and gravel mixture at a good 8" Deep), 1 Very Sweet Looking Washington Quarter dated 1964-d, 1 Barber Dime dated 1905-s, 12 Mercury Dimes dated 16,36,36-d,40-d,41-d,41-s,42,43,43-d,44, and 44-s and yet another 7 Roosevelt Dimes dated 46-d,53-d,53-s,54-d,56-d,61-d, and 63 to finalize the Silver Total. I think there is a bunch more Silver at that site Tim!!! Other finds were 2 Tokens. 1 is an Aluminum Token that reads Credit Deposit $70 At Spiegels on one side and the other side reads Monthly Payment Of $7 Means Using Deposit Fully. The 2nd Token should be readable enough in the Pic so if your not able to read it, just ask and I will post what it says on both sides. For the rest of the Pics and Finds from this Long Labor Day Weekend, look at Part 2 Coming up shortly. Thanks for looking and Good Luck and HH to you all.:detecting: [attachment 67347 DirtySilver.jpg][attachment 67348 CleanedSilver.jpg][attachment 67350 DirtyTokens.jpg][attachment 67349 CleanedTokens.jpg][attachment 67351 DirtyTokensBack.jpg][attachment 67352 CleanedTokensBack.jpg]

Here is the rest of the finds. I found 3 Buffalo Nickels dated 1913 variety 2,1915-d, and 1925. I also found 3 Indian Head Pennies dated 1893,1902, and 1906. For Wheat Pennies, I found a small Wheat Field once again totalling 51. They are dated as follows. 13,(2)16,19,19-d,24,28-d,30,(2)30-d,34-d,35-d,(2)36,36-s,37,(2)37-d,40,41,42,(3)42-d,44,(2)44-s,45,(3)45-d,(5)46-d,(4)47-d,(3)50-d,(4)51-d,52-d,53-d, and (2)56-d's. For Misc. Items, I found a Toy Car, 2 Religious Rings, 2 Religious Crosses, 2 Religious Pendants, bottom half to a Metal Ladies Figure, part of a Shoe that says KING ONE PIECE, a small Key, a small Indian's Head off of a Bracelet most likely, a 4-H Pin with First on top, a Play Coin, a Perfect Attendance Honor Award Pin, a Minnesota School Patrol A Served L Pin, and a Play $50 Bill. Well, that finally does it for this time so enjoy and Good Luck and HH to you all during the week. :detecting:[attachment 67355 DirtyIndiansandBuffalos.jpg][attachment 67359 CleanedIndiansandBuffalos.jpg][attachment 67353 DirtyWheats.jpg][attachment 67354 CleanedWheats.jpg][attachment 67356 DirtyMisc..jpg][attachment 67357 CleanedMisc..jpg]

Research...research...research...you prove it! My research usually leads me to 5 foot weeds ...more of a Jurassic Park setting.

One was an Old Fairgrounds Site with a Horse Track that had a Park in the Center of it back in the late 1800's. Went looking for it and found where the Park was but it has been dug up and it is well overgrown now that it would be impossible to detect it unless you leveled the site of Trees and Debri. Still think about how much Seated and Barber Coins are at that Site that will most likely never be found. But Research does pay off, as I have proved over and over again. Good Luck and HH.

the next generation of Detectorist's will really need to work their butts off to find anything at the sites I have been to. There is always finds to be made even at my sites but they do get to be tougher and tougher to find. I think that the future Detectorist will know exactly why the lack of Old Coins due to the James N.D. Hoard. Thanks Crow-Duck and Good Luck and HH.:detecting:

Before Monday, I had already found 11 Silver. Tim and I went to a Fairgrounds that he and Dan had done very well at and they did a very good job in areas that I couldn't find much at all for Coin Signals. Then I tried up by the Buildings and that is when my Luck turned around. This is why a Small Coil is a Must! I know there is more Silver there but how much I am unsure of. May try hitting it this weekend again. Thanks for the response Jon and Good Luck and HH during both your Coin Hunting and also Deer Hunting.

There must have been a lot of junk by the buildings for you to pull out the Joey coil. I think I need to spend more time with my Joey to get used to it. It just seems that the tone of the signal are higher in turn I end up digging more junk items. Hope you do well this weekend.

It is amazing how much Silver is still out there to be found. I do know that it is getting tougher to find a single spot that yields more than a couple Silver but every now and then I find one. I am wondering how next year will be for Silver Finds since I am travelling further and further just to bring home the Good Stuff. I hope you find a Honey Hole in your area and Good Luck and HH.

Especially at Fairgrounds. Most of the time, the Old Coins never got that deep at Fairgrounds unless it was dug up at one time. Usually, by Buildings, that was never dug up and if it was, it was only scraped or filled at one time. I found Wheats about 3" deep so I knew the Joey Coil wouldn't have a problem getting them in amongst the Trash and Iron. If you go Slow, you will hear then Targets in these bad area's. By the way Jon, I did have some luck this Saturday. Found a Key Date! Look for my post too see what it was. Good Luck and HH.:detecting:
