Larger Coils for MXT and depth

I see where Whites advertises an 18" EXcelerator II coil that supposedly gets real good depth. Anyone use one for relic hunting? Does it seem to get better depth than the stock coil?
 
I bought the 12" Excelerator coil and love it in a non trashy area. open fields or in the woods. It rather good in hot ground.
