Laser Hawkeye Thoughts

Hi all, just ordered one of these and was wondering which Tesoro model it was based on, what the performance will be like etc etc. there doesnt seem to be much info available on this / user guides / tips etc. I previously owned a fancy 'down under' machine and was looking for something that didnt mask so much, ie performed better in mineralised sites with lots of iron rubbush, I heard this was the choice. All thoughts appreciated ....

It is the Tesoro DeLeon with a backlight. Nice detector, you will like it.

As PJ states, it is based on the Deleon. The board is straight out of the Cortes though, so expect similar performance. ALWAYS CHECK to make sure the backlight is switched to the off position in the daylight though, or it will eat your batteries!
I've had mine a couple of months now, and am impressed with the battery life, sensitivity to small targets and depth (damp compacted soil). The meter seems to be reasonably accurate too! Pinpointing is good, but if you sweep over the target real slow, you can pinpoint quite accurately in Discrim mode I like it better than my DFX, which was just TOO complicated for me! the Hawkeye in my opinion offers equally good depth and sensitivivity, with a decent uncomplicated screen.
What more do you want??? ENJOY! charlie(UK)
