Last 2 weeks silver and gold with the Omega

Well-known member
I have been hunting entirely with the 10" coil almost the whole month of Sept. and have grown quite fond of the coil and the Omega. The picture is of my silver coins and jewelry finds over the past two weeks. The 10k class ring was the one I posted about two weeks ago. Since getting the Omega mid July, I have recovered 31 silver coins, 3 I H cents, 2 Buffalo nickels, 3 silver rings and the 10k white gold class ring, plus numerous other items of interest. Jim,
When you get the pictures up could you post where the Gold ring came in on the VDI and the characteristics of the signal if you can remember them. I've found two silver rings so far with the T2SE both times they rang in @ 88 on the VDI & read as a quarter. both rings were about the same in size too though(Just under the size of a quarter), and I would figure if a bigger silver ring were to be under the coil it would go up in the high 90's on the VDI. I haven't happened up on a gold ring yet though and I keep telling myself it will probably ring in as Nickel/foil or pulltab on the gold. So far the T2SE locks hard on silver targets.... Just wondering how the Gold will show up and sound like when I finally hit it with the T2.

Jay, after while, I am going to start from scratch again on the picture. It was a 10k white gold class ring about medium size and if I remember correctly, it hit a solid 57-58 with a good clean mid tone. I was in d3 tones and the ring was a very recent drop. It was just laying down in some thick grass. On my Omega, all my silver rings (3) hit in the quarter range. The 2 smaller one's were 86-88 and one fairly hefty one hit on 92. I'm not a dig it all guy, so most gold rings I find with my Fishers and Omega are hits in the nickel range. A couple with my F 75 that read in the upper 50's were bigger rings and something about the tone made me dig. HH jim nt

Sound like nice finds, Jim! I haven't been lucky enough (or good enough) to pick up a silver or gold ring with the Omega yet. Thanks for the info on numbers and tones....I got a small ring yesterday, came in a bit lower than I would have expected for silver (76 - 7:geek:...it looked silver, but wasn't...have found a few rings but, like I said, no silver or gold ones. Keep up the good work. HH
