We have had several days of rather nippy weather along with a dusting of snow on the weekend, but some of the days I have been braving the elements. Sat I hit one of our wooded spots and managed 7 coins in total, but 2 were silver. 1 was a 45 Merc. and the other a 46 Rosie.
This morning my buddy and I hit one of our trashy spots and both of us had on the 5" DD coil for sniffing through the trash. Pretty early in he hunt I was fortunate enough to get my coil over a 5" deep 1935 Mercury. A little while later working a little out from a utility pole I got a jumpy 70-80's reading with mostly a high tone. Dug about a 4" deep plug and the 1st target that came out of the plug was that small rivet pictured in the group shot. Swept the plug again and got a Memorial cent that time. One more swing over the plug revealed nothing, but a last swing over the hole gave me a high tone. Just off to the side of the hole wall, my pin pointer found a sterling ladies ring. Shortly after moving over to another area of the park I recovered the 925 silver cross. Right at the end of the hunt, in fact, the last target I dug, yielded me 2 wheat cents in the same hole. 1 is a 42d and the other a 44d.
The 35 Mercury this morning makes my 10th silver dime for the month of Jan. Although, 2 did come with my Omega 8500. Thanks for looking. HH jim tn
