Last week hunting consisted of some same oh, same oh, places and checking out some new ones, which all of them were a bust, and, including today, a couple I hadn't been to for a while. Last weeks old coin nut comprised of a 45 Merc., 48 Rosie, 1930 Buffalo nickel and 2, 43 war nickels, s and p mints, and a toy car. All these came with the 5" coil on my F 75 save for the 43s war nickel which I got yesterday using the 5 x 10" coil.
This morning I put the 5" coil back on and went to one of our older parks that I hadn't been to for a few months. I started out just picking off a few pieces of clad here and there and after a couple of hours realized I was hunting to fast. On these picked over old trashy sites I have learned I do much better finding older coins by just inching my way along and working those high tone chirps, tics and whimpers. As a result, in my last hour of hunting I snagged a 40 Merc, 58d Rosies and 3 of the 4 wheats I recovered. The one fresh from the ground shot was from a hunt last week when my camera was handy. I haven't been carrying it afield much of late. Thanks for looking. HH jim tn
