Last hunt for 2010 yields 101st silver:biggrin:

Gave the Military housing site one last chance to give me 1 more silver for the year...and it did...a 1925 well worn Merc. That brought my silver coin recoveries for the year to 101. I also recovered 5 wheat cents and when checking the dates had a brief heart stopper. After a wet rub, I spotted 1914 and a D mint mark. After my pulse rate came back down, I gave the date another quick rub and under the loop I noticed the 1 had turned into a 4. So, my 14D turned into a 44D. Oh, well!!!! Included in the photo's is my 100th silver coin recovery for the year along with the no date Buffalo nickel I found the same day. Hope everyone has a safe New Years and a great New Year and that your every outing in 2011 brings you a bulging pocket of goodies. HH jim tn

Nice looking coins, 101 for the year, WOW. :super: Do you do alot of research or mostly luck? Snow is finally gone and temps are near 60 here in Cincinnati. Hope your 2011 is just as good to you. What were you hunting with? Tom

Tom, thank you. We were in the low 70's here in the Memphis area today. Very windy and have a good chance for some tornado like weather coming our way. I don't rely on luck, but don't do a great deal of research either. I know the approximate age of most of the areas public places and parks, schools, housing developments, and so on, and since my preference is for older coins, those are the kind spots I hunt most of the time. About 50 % of my coins, jewelry and other recoveries were split this year between my F75 LTD and the Omega. I acquired the Omega in July and since, I have swung it about 98 % of the time. I really like it for coin hunting. Not as deep as the LTD, but locks on coins really well. Hope you have a great 2011 as well. HH jim tn

My hats off to you Jim.. certainly proves that perseverance pays off! That's something this rookie is going to keep in mind in 2011. Happy New Year!

Keep in mind that except for some "screwy" types of weather, that I can, and do, hunt almost everyday. It does seem like, though, whenever F T comes out with a newer updated model, that that opens up some of my old hunting spots again and I am able to squeeze a few more silvers from them. COME ON F T, I AM READY FOR A HOT NEW COIN SHOOTING MACHINE.:help: HH jim tn
