Last night finds with the T2 and a question

I found this last night its a 1776 spanish reale. Its four reales.Im still doing research on it.
Funny thing is people say its silver but it only reads 81 on my T2.Usually silver is well in the 90 range.
does anyone know why?

don't know what size it is but if its close to a dime 81 would be right especially if its worn down some.

I have a 2 reale it's bigger than a U.S. quarter but not as big as a U.S. 50 cent piece... it's a 177? and it dead locks on 82 on my T-2..Just asking...A 4 should be a little bigger than a 50 cent piece and an 8 should be bigger than a silver dollar.

Maybe a 2 reale. Its the size of a dime and the place where it would tell you on the coin is gone..Very thin and lightweight.
I was using this as a reference.the first coin..

Yeah i thought the t2 gave up a number for the type of metal. But i guess its a combination of sorts to come up with the number. It is a nice system...

if it's a little bigger than a dime it's one reale.....But thats why it reads pretty low a dime should read about 82 on the T-2...the bigger the coin the higher the reading on the scale plus the purity of the metal composition...

O yeah man forgot to say it's a nice find!!!

Hey Keith thanks for the info...Thats what make this forum a great place...
