Last silver of the year?....

My 2.5 week silver drought finally ended with this 41" Dutch quarter at 5" at a old park I've never been to before. Sorry though, I didnt find it with my Explorer. It is the same size as a pennie, but thicker. I thought it was a Barber for sure cause I saw the back first and with the dirt on it and all. Theres some kind of residue on the back I cant get off. I just don't find silver that much, couldnt help showin you guys.

Now thats a neat coin. Did you try bakeing soda and a dab of water? The only coin i have that looks like that was a silver dime that had been in a fire. It changed the color of the silver and there was nothing that would take it off. See now had you been using the Explorer you might have found more lol. Weather is changing fast we all might be frozen or snowed in soon. Weather man hear swears this is going to be a rainy rainy winter with not as much snow. I dont believe him so im going to do my usual and do some detecting in FLORIDA lol.

Aaron that's a cool coin, I like the foreign silvers! I've dug at least a dozen silvers this year that were almost entirely black. Lots of iron in this spot, and a heavy baking soda rub, then chemical dip did not cure.

I was using the SE the first 2hrs of the hunt, just couldnt seem to connect with it at this new site, no matter how slow I went or what coil I used. I had the V3 w/me and was hoping to find some gold with it, and only had a about 30 mins of light left. Cant say I didnt try....
