Last two hunts

I took a break from metal detecting to do some Steelhead fishing and when I go home I expected to get back to metal detecting, but my wife had a list of Honey do's from hell that she wanted done before the snow flys, which is just around the corner. This week I was able to slip away to do a couple of hunts. My favorite find of the two hunts was a bent up letter opener with a patent attorney named Clarence O'brien on it. I looked it up on Google and it is from the 1930's. Ebay has a few of them for sale anywhere from $15.00 to $25.00 in perfect shape. Unfortunatley mine is not worth anything, but it was a cool find. I was using my MXT with a 6" DD Excelerator searchcoil, which is my favorite small coil. Thanks for looking. HH Dennis in Idaho

It looks like a great hunt to me. Anytime you find jewelry is a great day! Hey, that Japanese writing on that ring says "bent letter opener" in translation. Just thought you might want to know.

I think it really is a CTR ring with Japanese writting saying "Choose the Right", but seeing that I don't read Japanese it could say bent letter opener. LOL. HH Dennis in Idaho

glad to see some steelies making it past the seals.
they are so thick down here at the mouth of the Cowlitz that getting a fish into your boat means setting the hook and skipping them across the surface like bass tournement boys. If you can get them into your net before the seal can get to it you are lucky.
