Howdy all, it was nice enough to get out, the snow melted and the ground was thawed. I got permission to hunt a soy bean field that had a residence way back when. The first day I found two good date IHs, a large cent, a bell and the small eagle button. The farmer wanted the large cent so I reluctantly gave it to him. I did say that it was sort of the find of the day. He said he may give it back some day.
I went back the next day and the farmer drove out and gave me back the LC and said "You might get $10 for that if you find the right person". I thanked him - what a guy! I think he may have wanted to look up the value or he just saw the tiny tear in my eye as I left.
Anyway I found the two cent and another eagle button that day. Fun to get out swinging again.

also your bell I believe is a harness bell used on holidays for horses and mules. I have a nice one myself.

If I cry, Can I have that large cent from you Robin. I will make a road trip. LOL Just kidding, way to go. That was a great story. I'm still looking for my first large cent from America. So I'm envious of your great find. Those 2 cent pieces aren't that common Either. I hope it warms up enough to kick the snow out of here next week. then maybe we can kick some good dirt around again instead.
