do the same thing. The cat I own now, Bootsie, is just a mixed breed, a decendant from my mother's cat, so it is pretty special to me. Anyway, when she was just a kitten, I started my car one morning, and her the most awful noise. I called my husband on the cell phone. I turned my engine off, and just could not muster up enough courage to look. I just sat in my car until he got here, fearing what I might find. She had climbed up in there for the warmth, and I had no way of knowing.
It cut her head, and we rushed her to the vet, because she was hurt pretty bad. He kept her for three days, ghastly bill, and he said we might have to take her to a "Cat neurologist" in Memphis, some two and a half hours away.
Well, I love my animals, but you have to draw the line somewhere. NO specialists!

She still walks around, and ever once in a while you will see her shaking her head, as if to clear her mind!
She is a fearless hunter, though, even if she is brain injured!
