A few more finds on Saturday 8th June. searched a field with my step Son. we both had many fragments of lead.I often wonder what the ancients did with is all. My first find was the small Medieval belt stud 14th century A.D. two Roman coins were found both in poor Condition one was Carausius the British usurper late in the 3rd century A.D.My last find on the way back to the car was the silver coin.Made into a love token. The difference from others that I have found it is German.3rd quarter of the 18th century A.D. 12 Einen Reiches Thaler .The idea of the love token was it was bent as seen by the young man given to the girl so that when she found it in her purse she would think of him.Later is was either lost or discarded when he fell from favour.
The Medieval pendant would have been from a set decorating the horse trappings.Circa 14th century they are known as heraldic pendants .But few that we find are in fact of an importand Knight etc but a squire o r rich merchant who wanted to look good. Its in in bronze with blue enamel remaining. This was found by my companion.

Brian, that heraldic pendant is a lovely find i bet that blue enamal could be made to look stunning again, was that with the 8x6SEF coil again ??? some nice finds, have to admit land is getting hard to detect on at the moment its either crops are in full growth mode or grass on pasture land is getting high as well due to the recent good weather.
