Lawnmower Blade for a DIGGER?

Guest
Has anyone ever made a digger out of a lawnmower blade? If so, what were your thoughts of it?

It probably would make a digger. A leaf spring from a truck would make a good one.
I thought about making one, but instead I ordered the Raptor from George Lesche. I am glad I did This tool has shortened my digging time by quite a bit.
The Raptor will pull a large plug in no time and it seems to be sturdy enough to handle any job.
It seems to hold its edge quite well, as I have worn all the paint off of it, but the edge is still keen.

Dennis;
I made one from a piece of 1/4 x 2 inch steel similar to a lawnmower blade.
It works well cutting and prying plugs.

That is great..you should make and sell that piece. I'll buy one off ya....seeing as I can't even sharpen a pencil in an electrical sharpener. Beautiful work!

I saw your knife, and it does look good. What grade steel did you use?
Thanks, and HH

Dennis;
It is just "weldable steel" from Lowes.
It was just an experiment on my part so did
not invest in high grade tool steel.
