Lead Weights

Forum,

I found these lead weights and noticed that the holes in the top were drilled, cast with a hole, or had copper/brass wire. These do not look like "modern" weights that I am used to finding. How old do you think they are? Are they fishing weights? Sounding leads? Commercial fishing weights? Net weights?
