Got out for bout 5 hrs today even though we have about 40 mph winds goin on. I compared signals with two other top of the line detectors today, (wont't mention which, thats not what this is about), and i learned that at least in my area, the proper ground balance is important. Hunted in different types of soil today, range from loamy sand to wet clay. I experimented with different settings on the gb, and noticed that target response was excellent if it was set right, but if i moved it up or down 4 numbers, different in different spots, that i could make the signals sound choppy and not read well on the numbers. So i think a good gb is numero uno on this rig. I will say that against a dual freq. and another single freq. it more than held it's own. Even dug a nice little brass or copper sash buckle that both guys said they probly would not dig. But by the same token, one of the guys hit on a small caliber deep musket ball that sounded choppy to me. I did dig a couple decent coins though, deepest being a 2 cent at roughly 7in. Will post some pics later , just got home and wanted to post this before i forgot it all, or i drank one to many,,,hh.
