well i cant seem to decipher what is going on when i hunt old home-sites(to many signals) so i decided to hunt some athletic fields/parks until i get used to my detector. seems to be working, got a bunch of quarters, nickles, dimes and a kennedy half. at the old home-site a managed a old dogtag and a couple aluminum presidential tokens one was an abe lincoln and a john tyler. don't think there worth anything.

What year was the dog tag? The tokens are probably the ones they gave out at Shell stations in the 50's and 60's? Congrats! :)

going to areas where you have an idea what to expect...then being surprised with more than expected - congrats on the half dollar.

Then after some understanding of the machine going to the other site and finding those presidential things - way cool.

Congrats on the new machine and the finds.

Keep up the great finds and learning...you're obviously doing something right.

Saturday. L.C. says the way those things are set up they are super sensitve. We did some air testing in the shop. Due to some iron in the concrete floor and the electric lighting he dropped the sensitivity to 60 and still got one of my small gold rings at about 7 inches and a quarter (clad) at 10 inches. Don't know where you had your sensitivity set but you might try dropping it a little at the old place you mentioned. At 60 it didn't seem to lose much depth at all. Good luck with the new machine. I sure liked it.
