LEARNING UPDATE ON MY NEW MXT

Guys,it took me several months to decide on a machine to buy, because i could not learn the other machine i had.that being said i decided on the mxt,man was this the right decision i got jeff fosters book and did a little extra reading not sure that i understood everything that i read but most of it.now to the good part i have been hunting two civil war camp sites that are supposed to be totally hunted out sites,let me tell you what in three weeks i have found,16 dropped 3 ringers,several pistol bullets,1 general service cuff button,1flat button,1cap box finial,1 general service button,1 confederate block i button,1 1829 capped bust half dime,1 1850 seated liberty dime,and 1 eagle calvary button.im tellin you i have this machine dialed in and im lovin it.the question that i asked some time ago about the 12" coil seems kind of silly now but some times you dont know until you ask.anyways GREAT MACHINE AND THE MXT ROCKS.

"Hunted out"? Never "hunted out" as you and the MXT has proven. You've got yourself a wonderful spot to detect.....over and over again. Way to go on the super finds. I love it. Can you take pictures and post them on here so we can all see the Civil War relics. You're already on your way for making this hobby pay for your machine. Now what other hobby can do that where there's no other competition! VERY nice finds and thanks for sharing your experience. Just goes to show that it's never "hunted out". HH, Nancy

Congratulations for finding what others have passed over. It certainly is true that a site is never completely hunted out but your site appears to be a very good one. Over the years, go back to it occasionally and it will probably keep rewarding you. You will have missed some things too.

I have owned and still do own other detectors but keep going back to my MXT. Those that take the time to understand the language of an MXT learn that it is a great machine. However we are a minority for at least a couple of reasons. First, many people cannot get past the chatty nature of an MXT and give up on it. Second, many cannot accept it as a great detector because it is too simple to use and adjust. They have the mindset that a detector has to be complicated to be great. We that have taken the time to learn the MXT just keep swing them and finding stuff. Ain

I don't have an MXT, but my huntin buddie jwilkes does... I've used his MXT a couple of times, and have to say, I like the chatter, hum of the threshold, and ease of use... Unlike my *&^)*^ which chatters like heck... Supposed to be nice, with a few showers so me and jwilkes are gona get out and chatter it up...
