Hey guys. So I was wondering if any of you have left your Minelab Etracs or Safari's in a really hot car during summer time? I left my Garrett AT Pro in my trunk all last summer.. day and night.. and I never had an issue. It was screaming hot in my car every day throughout the summer and I had no problems. Has anybody ever had trouble from doing this with their Minelabs?

Leaving a metal detector in a hot car (Minelab Etrac/Safari):confused:

They say the trunk is the worst place to leave anything since temps can actually get higher in the trunk. I never leave any machine in my truck for extended periods but when I beach detect I leave a spare in the back floorboard with all 4 windows cracked to allow a breeze to come thru the cab.

If you have a White or light colored car then the trunk is probably o.k. but if it's dark or black,car hot to the touch then as stated the rear floor board with Windows cracked so the heat can rise and escape, trunk is unventilated and trunk lid generates a lot of heat. I.e oven

I have a Dark Blue Car with a Black Interior its a oven when its parked in the sun. I dont leave machines in it because im always afraid of damaging them or fading the LCD displays. I would never leave the safari in a hot car.
The only thing I would leave in a vehicle continuously for weeks/months would be like a cheap bounty hunter or maybe a Eurotek pro. I'm not crazy about leaving $800-$2000 worth of electronics in the heat continuously. I do it ocassionally in the winter when I plan on hunting right after work but that is usually when temps are in the 40-60's.

Its not very good I left my safari in the car this week and its started having issues now im going to have to give minelab a call and see what they say.

I leave machines in my car but only if it's cool or in the shade. I leave machines in my car when I leave it in the garage and it gets warm but it's not going to hurt them since they are either in the garage or car and it's the same temp. I cover the display with a towel when it's sunny to prevent fading and stuff.

Do you leave them in the carrying case (hopefully), I'm sure the insulated bag would help add a little more protection. Also a small insulated lunch bag/ cooler would help pinpointer. You can also put a good sized towel on top. Just a thought. I personally have not had any heat issue's
