But what do we do about my poor, little blind "Jakkie"?

He lives in a dark world ( but gets anything he wants...24 /7 ) :lmfao:

Well all animals' pics are welcome! I would post Cliff's cat and dog pics but having trouble yet! Love animals and birds! Cliff and I look out the windows, especially, my kitchen window where the Dogwood tree is and watch so many different kinds of beautiful and colorful birds! (Don't care for snakes or spiders though! So no pics of them, okay Bill?

God Bless!

Okay, I'll see what I can do! But please keep in mind, Taco doesn't like anyone making fun of his Bassonett! If the pics are to big to post here I'll include a link.

Heeeeeeeeere's Taco! Spoiled isn't he???<P>These next photos are of, "Chance" and "Hope", both are Border Collies. They are called Tri-Color Border Collies, Hope is a rare
"Blue Merle" Tri-Color. We rescued both of them from the same "Puppy Mill". It is so adorable how they hug each other, hold hands. etc., I'm serious! At first we thought just a coincidence as we took the photo but then watched as they started doing it all the time.Okay back to Taco, he's getting jealous! Taco with my son DJ. Yeah, we all spoil him!

Oh, Tim...such beautiful animals you have! And they are sooooooo cute, sooooooooo lovable . I love those pics.

The border collies are beautiful...and sweet that they hug and hold hands...I'm wondering ...were they rescued at the same time ? They have bonded so well.

And Taco.....oh, little itsy , bitsy Taco...how precious!! He's smiling in that last photo.. he's got such a cute face!

thank you so much for those pics..they are going right in "Favorites"

Your pets are so fortunate to be living at your home....they have it "made in the shade" !

Beautiful animals for sure Tim! I am like Lorraine.........................OH, HOW ADORABLE THEY ALL ARE! God has blessed you all!

God Bless!

Thanks! Lorraine, I did rescue both of them at the same time. They are both registered so I was able to determine that they came from two different litters. The Puppy Mill that had them was apparently ordered by a federal agency to get rid of the Border Collies as the kennels they were using weren't sufficient for large dogs. The Puppy Mill was breeding Cocker Spaniels and I think Daschunds. Hope has loosened up quite a bit to other people now, Chance is still very skiddish and at times will actually run behind me for protection even from some of our grandchildren. I took photos of the first day I found them, they are to sad to post, both of them were so scared it broke our hearts. We actually sat down on the floor with them for days and thats pretty much how we earned their trust. It didn't take them long to see that, "hey these guys are okay!" They weren't togther in the Puppy Mill as they were caged, the owner actually complained that they were ordered to walk them at least once 15 minutes a day! I was so angry, it took a lot to remind myself I'm a Christian and it wouldn't be right to put the owner in a cage! Hope was apparently in a Puppy Mill from birth, and Chance for at least six months that we know of. They bonded here as we made them a large fenced kennel outside where they play all the time and we keep them separate from Taco and Dusty. We would love for them all to play together but Taco really thinks he can beat everyone up and he's quite jealous, he doesn't like anyone near me. We tried having them all together in the house but it didn't work, Taco thinks he's protecting us but really we're protecting him! This summer we are planning on adding another 50' to their kennel. They come in at night or when we put the "little ones" out! It's a riot, we have to take turns!

The forum must of bleeped out the first word in c_cker spaniel? Also I forgot to mention that both Hope and Chance were full grown adult dogs when we got them!

Thank you for that interesting information, Tim. Animals are soooooooo smart.

Hope and Chance knew that they were "partners" from the Puppy Mill and will stick together now for life..clinging to each other psychologically and physically for security....

They know that they are now in a safe, secure, loving home,

Sad to say, I don't think they can ever fully forget their past incarceration....but anyone can see how happy and content and healthy they now are...God bless you and your family for being so kind and caring to animals.

We rescued a beautiful big mixed breed dog several years ago. and for several weeks, we could not pet him past his head..then slowly ( about a week at a time), he allowed us to pet his neck, then shoulder area, then upper back..etc. until about one year later, we could finally pet him all the way to this tail....that is how protective he was of himself...must have been very abused.

thank you again for the post.

p.s. that Taco is a piece of work for sure.....a little "mighty might"!

I wish I knew how to do the You Tube thing! You would laugh for hours with Taco! Being as small as he is I would put him up on a table and say, "give me five", he lean back to one side and slap my hand! Even our Vet was amazed at what I taught him and how smart he is. Everytime he growls at my wife I tell her it could be worse, Taco could have been a German Shepard! She loves him though, he's acts like her best friend when I'm not around. Sadly both of the Border Collies have had siezures of some kind. We thought we were going to lose them as it was so bad. The Vet is puzzled and couldn't figure out what caused them. We switched food, treats, and everything even though the Vet didn't think that was the cause. The only other thing they had in common was coming from the same Puppy Mill. When we brought them home we noticed each one had a raw spot on the end of their nose. I wondered if the Puppy Mill sprayed them with a chemical or did something to keep them from barking. They cleared up after a while once they were here so we know whatever caused the redness was from the Mill. But as you said, they are, "sooooooo smart", they know they have it made now! The first dog we rescued was half Wolf half Huskey, we had him for thirteen years, he was nine months old when we got him. The previous "owner" blinded him in one eye, tried to tell us a chicken must have did it. That didn't explain why he was on a chain with no food or water and so skinny you could see the shape of his skull. When I found him I went home and told my wife, she said we don't dare bring home a big dog as we were renting back then. So I just "tricked" her! Drove by there the next day and said, "by the way, here's that dog I told you about", she had tears in her eyes walked over, undid his chain, scooped him up, and put him in our van. Even being half wolf he was so gentle with our children and so loving as he knew we rescued him. We named him "Bo", I actually taught him to "talk". He would literally say, "I love you!". If we were cooking out he would smell the beef and start saying by himself without being asked, "love you, love you" trying to get our attention. Friends and family were amazed. I would walk over to him and say, "no, I love you", then clear as a bell he would say "I love you" and I'd give him his treat! It could get quite expensive if we were cooking steaks and everyone wanted to hear Bo talk! I'll post a photo of him later.

Half wolf/half husky..I love that kind of dog!! Can't wait to see the pic (s) of him.

thanks for the post.

Here's our Bo! Larger dogs generally won't live as long as Bo did. He was almost 14 when we lost him to cancer. Bo had a great life with us, our children were still at home so he got a lot of attention. We sure miss our talking dog, not many people can say their dog talks!

Bo sure is handsome! I love his colors...I'm sorry that he had to leave you and your family....but you'll meet up with him again; we will all see our beloved pets again...they are waiting for us.

Bo, was a beautiful dog and I know you all must miss him terribly! I still miss my cat, Tony, and he passed away in July 97 of kidney problems!

God Bless!
