Howdy,

I got out tonight following a couple days of rain. The mosquitoes are out too, I might add. Rather than try to find new ground, I opted to hit a place I'd had some success at last year, but try it with the Excelerator coil this time. I thought maybe the extra rain would help bring out some signals, and there were a few really signal rich areas I wanted to try, to see if the small coil could bob and weave among them.

I was rewarded with two Mercs (not far from each other), but one apparently some time in a gravel drive or parking area, because it's a bit scratched up. The other one came out looking crisp, so must have been dropped not too long into circulation.

Also found a '41 Jefferson nickel and a couple 40's Wheats.

Pretty fun hunt (despite gassing up on bug spray).

Mercs have to be one of the most attractive coins minted in the US. To me any how.

Nice finds ! :beers:

Interesting how the '36 is in such good condition, but the the axe head has a weak strike compared to the scratched dime.

Nice going DF.:clapping: I'm over here across the mountains camping and haven't been out detecting yet, but maybe tomorrow I will give it a try. HH.
