Should be in your manual.....I believe on my XS 11 hrs on the rechargeable and 14 hrs on alkalines...Of course brands of alkalines differ and if buying used NiMH batteries may be less on ones used hard as their time diminishes with age so just guesstimates...with either battery...Of course if you don't use headphones, pinpoint a lot and have areas with lots of trash not to forget the nightlight use probably a bit less than your manual states....Anyone out there with a SE manual to help...

According to the manual ... 16 hours for both AA and rechargable pack. They may be correct for the AA... but not the 1600 pack id say 9 hours depending on your settings. Like Dan said if you pinpoint a lot, dont use headphones, have a higher threshold, open up the disc requiring more tones, even a larger coil may affect the battery use. They can be left on the charger and wont be over charged. They are a little more expensive than other detector batteries.... supposedly because the charging device is in the pack. Some people prefer rechargeables any thing over 1800 gives you a little more detecting time. Ive ran those suckers down and they come back with no problem. I know on the whites machines i seemed to notice a depth difference after half way... not so on these packs.

I was going to say i consistently get about 11 or 12 hours from my rechargables on the SE Pro

They need to improve them tiny round batteries like they use in 35 mm cameras..... wouldnt that make the whole thing light. I always recharge mine when i get home so as long as it gets me thru the day ... works for me. Have to say even at $100 replacement price the ML packs last a LONG time. Nock.... you know you can down load the manual on the ML site dont you? There is also a warning about lithium or other batteries that produce more than the standard charge.... could void you warranty.

Thank you to everyone who replied;

I will be getting my detector this coming week and it will come with a manual, i was just thinking about the battery life and knew someone here would share some info on them.
which would be better to use the rechargable or the AA duracell , i try to find AA on sale and use coupons when i buy the AA ,here where i live i can get a 20 pack for 10 dollars?

Thanks again Nock, ( David is my name)
